BOROUGH PATRIOTIC QUOTA.

C OPPER' TRAIL LIAISES £l9. ~ As a result of the joint appeal made yesterday by the Ashburton branches of the Red Cross and St. John organisations for sick and wounded and pfis-oner-of-war funds, the Ashburton Borough’s patriotic quota will benefit by approximately £1383 a very fine effort. This amount was raised as follows: —St. John raffle, £2O 13s 6d; Ashburton sub-branch of the Red Cross, raffles £33, produce £ls, jumble sale £B, copper trail (run by Voluntary Aids) £l9 3s; Allenton sub-branch of the Red Cross, cake stall, £l2; Hampstead sub-branch,’ community sing, approximately £3-2; Fun Parlour, £lB. A feature of these totals is the large sum raised by the Voluntary Aids in charge of the .copper trail.
