CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Little change in the grain and seed trade has been reported in the last week, and products for which merchants are. able to quote are still few. Several lines of wheat have come forward, the condition of samples being described as quite good, though it is still too early for any. clear indication to be given about yields. A few samples of ryegrass bavc been received by merchants, but because of export uncertainties merchants aie stil. jipt disposed to do much buying meanwhile. , Samples of Algerian oats are sti fairly few, with business at 2s 8d to 2s 9d on trucks. Odd samples of Gartons remain at 3s 6d a bushel for Agrade and 3s 3d f-or B’s, on trucks. The new wheat price for the current crop, on a Tuscan basis for March, is: 6s 2d a bushel (less? id a bushel deduction, retained for insurance compensation'fund), Hunters 6s 4d (less deduction), Pearl and Marquis 6s 6d arid 6s 8d respectively (less deduction); subject to progressive monthly increments from April ,1 to July 1 inclusive, of Id a bushel, and in August and September of id a bushel, all .prices f.o.h. . t WOOL APPRAISAL AT TIMARU.
