SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
ELECTIONS IN THE COUNTY. The following school committees were elected in the Ashburton County on Monday evening. In all cases, the name of the chairman is. given first: Alford Forest —Messrs E. T. Grigg, F. W. Fagan, J. J. Harmer, G. A. Roundtree. Carew —Messrs H. C. Barton, J. McCormack (treasurer), C. Banks, H. Jones, D. Stock. Lauriston. —Messrs H. T. Crothers, E. E. Doak (secretary and treasurer), F. C. Cone, D. E. A. Macann, J. G. Marshall. Lowcliffe —Messrs H. M. Price, A. Harris, D. M. Bruce, K. G. Lamb, W. H. Price, Jnr. Lynnford—Messrs L. F. Hill, L. A. Noble, C. Beaven, A. Keith, W. B. Frampton. Mount Somers —Six persons attended the householders’ meeting, this being the first time for five years that others than members of the committee have attended. MV G' W. Sandrey presided. A credit balance of £23 6a 10s was disclosed in the No. 1 account and £-1 10s 2d in No. 2 account. The following committee was elected: Messrs T. Kerr (chairman), G. W. Sandrey (deputy chairman), T. Graham, R. TTix, J. T. Bull (secretary). Ruapuna —Messrs R. W. Holland, H. A. Moore, J. A. Conway, W. T. H. Chian, E. G. Johnstone (secretary).
