RED CROSS SOCIETY.
THE WAKANUS SUB-BRANCH. There Avas a large attendance at the meeting of the Wakanui sub-branch of the Red Cross Society, the president (Mrs F. Butterick) presiding. It was reported that members of the U.P.S. had inspected the first-aid points and had expressed satisfaction with the lay-out, that members bad attended home nursing and first-aid lectures in Ashburton, and that members had assisted at the Welcome Club. One neAv member Avas elected. Knitted garments were handed in and quantities of clothing for refugees were also received. It Avas stated that cakes had been supplied to a military field hospital. The hostesses Avere Mesdames A. Doak and C. G. Frampton.
