THE CONCLUDING EVENTS. * The Ashburton County Racing Club’s summer meeting on Saturday was a success in all its departments. The day was fine, but there was a strong wind from the south, which made conditions unpleasant for patrons. The totalisatot handled £13,164, compared with £14,378 10s last year. It was stated that the number of people who travelled to the meeting by the special train from Christchurch was a record for a gallops meeting.
