THEATRE PROPOSAL.
NEW BUILDING FOR ASHBURTON IMPORTANT LETTER RECEIVED An important letter from the Ministry of Supply will come before the meeting of the Ashburton Borough 'Council this evening. For some time the Council has been endeavouring to _ obtain through the Ministry permission for the use of the steel necessary in the construction of a new theatre on a site in Havelocli Street, and repeated representations have been made to the authorities.
