CARDS AT WILLOWBY.

The final euchre contest for the 1941 session was held in the Willowby Schoolroom in aid of the school funds. A good evening was spent. Miss J. Patterson won the ladies’ prize with Miss P. Lattimore runner-up. Mr W. Laughlin won the men’s prize with Mr J. Bird second.

A card evening was held in the Willowby Schoolroom, the proceeds being devoted to a fund to provide soldiers’ parcels. There was a good attendance. The prizes were donated by business people of Ashburton. Much interest was taken in this euchre party. The winners were: Miss Douglas 1, Mrs Joseph Taylor 2; Mr W. Laughlin 1, Mr G. Chalmers 2.
