FLOWER SHOW AT TINWALD. The Timvald Women’s Institute held its annual flower show in the Parish Hall. The president (Mrs Christie) welcomed all present. Items were given as follow: Songs, Mosdames H. Mil Inland C. O’Keefe; recitation, Miss J. Ede; violin solo, Miss M. Walsh; piano solo,’ Mrs Green. Miss P. Clark was the accompanist and Mrs Constable led the community singing. Mrs G. ACTIVITIES AT HAMPSTEAD The monthly meeting of the Hampstead Women’s Institute was hold in the Memorial Hall. There was a good attendance, Airs H. Elatman presiding. A motion of , sympathy with Airs S. Thompson in the death of her sister, was passed, members standing in silence. One new member and one visitor were welcomed. Correspondence from the Dominion Federation and from the Health Camp Committed was read, and it Avas agreed to send a donation to the last named. A letter Avas received from Miss Cocks-Johnstone and it was decided to arrange an all-day lecture on gardening. Mrs M. A. Constable Avas congratulated on being appointed Dominion organiser for the South Island. Mrs Flatman read the motto, ’ Mhe garden is a training ground to keep our natures SAveet and in the garden circle so many friends avg meet.” It Avas decided to make an exchange of plants next month. Airs Rose gave a report of the hallyearly Council meeting. The roll call, parcels for the lepers, brought in a large number of parcels, and 7s in cash. Several members expressed Avillingness to knit articles for the merchant seamen.
