BRITAIN LIFTS BLOCKADE.

RED CROSS' SUPERVISION

LONDON, Sept. 10

The Ankara correspondent of the National Broadcasting Corporation reports that Britain lias agreed to lift the blockade in Greece’s favour, and the first instalment of 50,000 tons offood, including wheat and dried fruit, as well as medical supplies, will go to Greece on hoard the Turkish steamer Andana on September 14. The food is being purchased in Turkey by a United Kingdom commercial corporation and the International Red Cross is supervising "its distribution.

Tho German and Italian Governments have guaranteed the ship a safe passage, and have also given an assurance that the food will not be diverted elsewhere. /. x
