RED CROSS SOCIETY.
THE METHVE'N SUB-BRANCH. The resignation of Mr J. F. Stone as treasurer was received with regret at the monthly meeting of the 'Methven S : ub-branoh. of the Red Cross Society. Mr Cl. Olds was appointed to the vacancy.
A letter from the Greenock Academy, Greenock, thanking the Mot liven Red Cross Society for a box of baby clothes, was read.
It was decided to make a gift of C 3 to the Ashburton. Comforts Committee.
The Red (Cross depot, which was in charge of Mesdames ,J. Crooks and A. Guthrie, took £B. A request for children’s clothes, hooks, and soft toys tor including in overseas parcels was received. Mrs F. Curtis (president of the Ashburton Red Cross Society) was asked to visit Me.thven to-morrow to form a branch of the V.A.D. A branch of the comforts committee was formed, with Mrs Rawliuson as president. The president (Mrs H<?lmes) presided.
