CHEAPER AIR MAIL.

TO 1 UNITED STATES AND CANADA (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Postmaster-General (the Hon. P. C. Webb) announces a reduction in the air mail rate on correspondence forwarded to Canada by trans-Pacific and trans-United 1 States air mail services. From to-morrow the postage rate on such correspondence will he 4s per halfounce, Previously correspondence which the senders desired to be conveyed by air mail ell the way to Canada required to he paid lor at the. rate of 5s per half-ounce, the 4s rate ensuring air mail conveyance only as far as the United States. Henceforth for all air mail for the United States and Canada. forwarded from New Zealand by the trans-Pacific service there will be one rate only of 4s per half ounce.
