DEATH OF ASHBURTON SOLDIER • Official advice has boon received thatSergeant John Templeton, youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Templeton, of JU Cox Street, Allenton, has died oi wounds in a hospital in Greece. When last heard from, Sergeant Templeton was in Crete, having previously served in Greece Sergeant Templeton, who was 36 years of age, enlisted in Hoicitika, where he was employed by the Public Works Department. He learnt his trade as.an electrician with the Ashburton Power Board. While in Ashburton lie was a successful racing cyclist, and was connected with the Boy Scouts and Cadets. He was an expupil of the Borough and Technical High Schools. Ho’ was at one time choir boy at St. Stephen’s Church.
