(United Press Association —Copyright.) (Rec. 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 26. Diving low over an enemy aerodrome near Cherbourg to-day a fighter pilot saw a bomber being serviced inside the hangar,. He, headed his plane straight -tor "the open doors, firing all the time. “Men appeared to fall out of that Junkers from all angles,” said the pilot afterwards. This was only one incident in the attack on the aerodrome in which ■Whirlwinds as well as Spitfires took part. A number of bombers parked round the landing ground were set on fire. A line of Messerschmitt 100’s was shot up. The attack was such a surprise to the enemy that hot a single fighter was encountered in the air by our forces.
