LODGE MEETINGS.
i THE ASHBURTON FORESTERS. Court Ashburton, A.0.F., mot last evening, when P.C.R. Bro. C. G. Dellow presided over a good attendance. Sick pay-amounting to £7 was passed in favour of seven members. A motion of sympathy with Bros. Rattray in the death of Mrs Rattray was carried in silence. It was decided that the Management Committee meet on Thursday to consider matters relating to the newlyrenovated hall. Bros. P. Thompson and A. P. Rattray were added to the Management Committee. Bro. W. H. Amos made a presentation to Bro. R. A. Scammell, J.W. and members spoko of his good work for the Order. STAR OF ASHBURTON U.A.O.D. The fortnightly meeting of the Star of. Ashburton Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held last evening, the A.D., Bro. E. Mcaclem) presiding. Motions of with Bro. E. 0. Baker in the loss of his father and with the families of the late Brothers W. Giblett, F. A. Williams and C. Davidson were carried in silence. The Rards reported on visits to sick members and and sick pay was passed in favour of 11 brothers. Bro. W. E. Samuels, the lodge’s delegate'" to the "United Friendly Societies Benevolent Association, forwarded the annual statement of accounts and reported on the annual meeting. The Grand Secretary forwarded circulars in reference to suggestions for increased benefits to be inserted with the quarterly summonses. Bro. G. V. Furby reported that Bro. A. T. Garrock who was invalided home from Crete had called on him and wished to bo remembered to members. He gave several interesting details of events at the front and mentioned several lodge members besides other Ashburton soldiers with whom he had‘come in contact while on active service.
