PETROL LICENCES.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR REVIEW In implementing the announcement recently made by the Minister of Supply regarding the reduction in the allocation of motor-spirits to private car owners, Mr C. Ward (Sub-district Oil Fuel Controller at Ashburton), states that all licences are to be reviewed. The following procedure is being adopted in Ashburton: — The records of licences have been withdrawn from all resellers’ stations and licencees will not legally be entitled to purchase further supplies until such time as their licences have been reviewed. It will be necessary for licencees to present their licences for amendment at the Oil Fuel Counter, Post Office, at Ashburton. Any persons who cannot conveniently call may post their licences to the Sub-district Oil Fuel Controller, Ashburton. Every endeavour will be made to make adjustments while licences wait, but in the event of congestion becoming too great) it will be necessary for licencees to leave their licences, which will be dealt with after, the normal hours of business and posted back to them by first available mail. It will not be possible to discuss appeals against reductions during the rusll period, and any licencee who claims that he has been dealt with too severely must fully set out his case, in writing, for consideration by the Local Oil Fuel Committee.
