'" the ceremony. ;; .The building is for the entertain;ment and provision of comforts for xNew Zealand troops at the base camp. • It.was built from the £IO,OOO Fund 'given by Mr and Mrs T. C. Lowry ■(Hawke’s Bay), under the supervision ypf 'their daughter, Mrs Percy Cliapfind the Young Men’s Christian -'Association. It is situated on a fine site overlooking the camp. The instip.tute offers social, facilities to a large v.nuinber.of New Zealand soldiers.

' anxious to make the fullest use of it-. • Major-General Freyberg expressed the Sl gratitude of soldiers to the Lowry ’’Family for their gift. He paid a. tri- ' bute to the work of the Young Men’s ' Christian Association for the New Zea■s i land troops, and expressed regret at the severe less suffered by them in Greece. , Mrs Chapman said she wished her '-parentscould have been present to see the large crowd in attendance.
