NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTIONS ASHBURTON LOCAL BODIES.

Nominations of 'candidates for the Ashburton municipal and local body elections in the Ashburton district will close soon. So far there has. not been a great deal of interest in the elections, but there should be a stirring in interest in the next few days.

Closing days and places for nominations are as,follow: — At the Borough Council office at noon on Tuesday : Afayoralty ; Borough Council (12 required); Borough and Tinwald representatives' on tlie Ashburton Hospital Board (two required); Borough representatives on the Ashburton Eilecric Power Board (three required). At the County Council offices at noon on Alonday: County Council (12 required); Power JBoardrepresontatives (eight required); Hospital Board representatives (six require^); representatives for the combined district of Ashburton Borough and County and Tinwald Town district on the.Lyttelton Harbour Board (two required). At the Tinwald Town Board’s office (Air W. B. Thomas,. Ashburton) on Alonday at noon: Commissioners for the Town "Board (five required). At noon on Saturday: Representative on the Power Board (one required). J.t is understood that all members of the Power Board intend to seek reelection. Air H. It; Wilkinson, of Chertsey, is to be nominated to replace the late Air Jas. Bruco as representative for the north-east area of the County.
