ANZAC DAY.
ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED THE POPPY DAY APPEAL. I Arrangements for the services to he held in Ashburton on Anzac Day were completed at a. meeting of tho executive of the Returned Soldiers’ Association last evening. The services at the cemetery and at the Oval will he held on the same plan as last year, both i.i till 1 , morning. Ihe chief • speaker at the Domain service will be Lieutenant-Colonel S. D. Mason. 0.8. E., E.D. (Commandant of Burnham Military Camp). Jt, was decided that the annual salo of poppies should be held ill the streets on Friday next week. The sales will he in charge of Mrs E. M. Gahites. It was decided that the soldiers’ banquet should 'he held this year. The secretary (Mr E. J. Daniel) was appointed to represent the Association at the Dominion conference which will open at Wellington on May 24. The invitation of the Salvation Army for returned men to parade at tin Salvation Army Hall on Sunday, April 20, was accepted.
