METHODIST CHURCH.
THE WILLOWBY CIRCUIT. The quarterly meeting of the V illowby Methodist Circuit officers was held at the residence of Mr Clucas, Lismore, the Rev. W- W. Avery presiding. The gathering was representative.
The balance sheet presented by the stewards was satisfactory. It was decided that letters of cheer be sent to Mr T. Bennett and Mr E. Benbow.
It was announced that the Rev. G. I. Laurenson, of Auckland, would visit the circuit on May l l-5, 16 and 18 in the interest of Home and Maori Missions. Dr. R,utter, who is on furlough from the Solomon Islands would visit Willowby and Ashburton‘Circuits on April 9. Miss M. M. Lill (youth secretary) reported on the reopening of the Sunday Schools, the dedication of the young women’s Bible Class room and the complimentary social to the trustees. Arrangements for the young men’s Easter Camp to be held in Wiilowby were w r ell in hand. A reception service to members, and after cainp rally and tea will be held on April 27. Miss Audrey Clucas was appointed circuit Home and Foreign Mission secretary. Special appreciation of the services of Mr Eric Withell, retiling secretary was recorded. An emphatic and unanimous protest was recorded against Home Guard parades and training on Sundays. ‘ Mrs Awry reported on gifts of jam, eggs and preserves forwarded to 1 apanui Orphanage. At the conclusion of the meeting members were entertained to supper by Mrs and Miss Clucas.
