MILITARY SERVICE.

MEN TEMPORARILY UNFIT THE QUESTION OF RE-GRADING. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Dealing with the question why men who volunteered for service in the Expeditionary Force and failed to pass the medical examination were called upon by ballot either for service in the Territorials or overseas, the Afinistor for National Service (the Hon. R. Semple) stated to-day that there is a prospect of the physical condition of any reservist improving to a degree which would justify re-grading him. It was hoped that men of the lower gradings now being drafted to the Territorials for three months’ intensive training would be so benefited physically that many who worn eligible by ago for service overseas would eventually be found fit for service in the Expeditionary Force. Volunteers and balloted men who were classified as Grade IV., permanently wnfit^_ would not bo included in the ballots.
