BARING SQUARE EAST.
MANY FLOWERS BEING PLANTED A good deal of planting .has taken place in Baring Square Fast during the last few days. Two beds in the centre concrete court have been, planted with polyanthus and edged with pansies, the pansies and polyanthus being both inter-planted with grape-hyacinths.
Six hods in the lawns have been laid out with mammoth flowered daisies of crimson and pink colours. Narcissi of 30 different varieties have been planted to edge the shrub borders.
Considerable work has yet to he done to make the Square the attractive area it should he in the middle of the town. A box edging has yet to he planted along the sides of the diagonal paths, the lawns have to receive further attention and the concrete curbing has to be completed. The concreting of the paths and central court in the Square is nearing completion,. All but a small, portion of the path running to the south-east, corner of the reserve has'been concreted in two shades 'of red, the central court having six feet squares and the patlis three feet squares.
