Forty-nine men dirnwn in the Fourth Ballot were, medically examined at the Ashburton Defence Office to-day. The medical board comprised’four doctors. Of the men'.examined 22 wore classed fit, seven were not graded, 19 were classed lit for home service, and one permanenly unfit. A further sitting of the board will be held on Friday.
