MEDIATION PLAN
PRINCIPAL POINTS ACCEPTED. THAI AND FRENCH STATEMENT. SOME RESERVATIONS MADE. (United Press Association—Copyrights (Rec. 9 a.m.) TOKIO, Mar. 6. Mr Yomiuri said that the French Ambassador (M. Arsene Henry) asked for more time on account of his pending visit to Paris. However, unless a basis of accord is reached to-day Japan would to meet “the worst possible situation” from the standpoint of a mediator’s responsibility. Another report states that the Japissued a joint declaration that “a mediation plan presented by the Japanese Government had been agreed to by both the French and Thai Governments on the principal points, and the remaining points of detail are likely to he settled in a few days.” The Bangkok radio officially announced that Thailand had accepted the French reservations on the final peace terms which Japan had announced as the basis of agreement.
