THE MEDICAL SERVICE SCHEME. STATEMENT TO BE MADE NEXT WEEK. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. There has been complete official silence on the progress of the medical "service under the Social Security Act. Instructions issued throughout New Zealand yesterday warned district officers of tiie Health Department not to give information about the scheme for publication, nor to reveal details of applications made by doctors or potential beneficiaries. The reason for this blanket instruction is stated to be that statements made by district health officers were considered in official circles to bo unsatisfactory from tho Departmental viewpoint, and the Department proposes to make a statement in the near future covering the position to date. This will be released early next week, coming either from the Minister of Healthy or the Director-General of Health.
