WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
ACTIVITIES AT HAMPSTEAD. . The Hampstead Women’s Institute met in the Memorial Hall yesterday afternoon, the president (Mrs H. Flaxman) presiding over a good attendance. Tho financial statement showed a satisfactory position. Mrs M. A. Constable was nominated as group convener. It was decided to send parcels to relatives of members who are serving overseas. Members were reminded of the drama evening to he held on Wednesday, March 12". / Mrs Harrison read the motto. The roll-call caused much amusement. Mrs McEachen gave an outline of the work done by the Hampstead Red Cross and appealed to members for dusters, 24 inches square. Nominations for next year’s committee were received. The monthly competitions resulted: Potatoes, Mi’s Stone senr. 1, Airs Wilson and Airs Molloy (equal) 2, Airs Green and Airs AVilcox (equal 8; bloom, Airs Smith 1, Airs Spedding 2, Mrs Hunt senr. 3; gladioli, Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Spedding 2; child’s fancy apron, Airs Preston 1, Airs Husband 2, Airs Wilcox 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Stone senr, Stone junr., Wl Thompson, SThompson and H. White.
