“NOTABLE PICKPOCKET.”
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, January 8.
“This man is looked upon as an active thief and a notable pickpocket,” said Detective-Sergeant- McLennan of John Sand ford Valvoi, aged 42, avlio was convicted by the Magistrate (Mr J. L. iS'tout) on a charge of the theft of toilet articles, valued at £3 2s 6d from the shop of John Cunningham, a chemist at Newtown. Valvoi was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
