WELLINGTON DRY.

FIFTEEN DAYS WITHOUT RAIN

(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, January 8

_ As it has not rained in Wellington since December 24, which is 15 days ago, Welington, in company with other parts of New Zealand, is suffering from a drought in the official meaning of that term, provided it does not rain before 0 a.m. to-morrow, which it is not likely to do. The rainfall in Dfecember was only 2.6 Sin, an inch below normal. Together with the dryness are temperatures above normal, the average daily maximum being 72.3 with 79.6 as the highest reached.

Holiday-makers have been revelling in fine days, but rain is now needed as pastures are beginning to feel the want of it.
