EXPLOSION OF BOMB.
HEARD BY RADIO LISTENERS.
BROADCASTING HOUSE STRUCK
(Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 7
British listeners heard the explosion of one bomb. The announcer had begun the sentence, “The talk to-night will,” Avhen there was a smothered sound. The announcer paused momentarily and his voice Avas heard saying, “It’s all .right.” Then the announcer continued according to programme. The studios at Broadcasting House, numbering at* least 20, are still out of action, but the programmes, including world-wide broadcasts in 30 languages, are being continued uninterrupted from temporary, premises.
The casualties include the Director of Programmes (Mr B. E. Nicholls), Avho Avas serously injured.
