HEALTH SCHEME.

THE PLANS WILL GO ON STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, January 7. \ The comment made to-day by the Minister for Health, (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) on the latest statement by Dr. J. T. S. Jamieson (chairman of the National Health Insurance Committee of the Niew Zealand branch of the British Medical Association), in regard to the general practitioner service contracts, was brief and sharp. Dr. Jamieson advised the Government not to make commitments at present for the engagement of staff, the provision of premises, etc., as doctors were not undertaking any change in the system of medical practice for at least the continuance of the war and until after demobilisation. When his attention was'drawn to Dr. Jamieson’s statement, the Minister said: '

“It is only what we expected him tot say and what he has been saying all the time ,but we intend to go on with everything connected with the scheme.”
