ITALIAN LOSSES

ARMY WITHDRAWS IN ALBANIA.

PRISONERS AND MATERIAL LEFT. MOPPING-UP CONTINUES. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) 1 LONDON, December 18. The latest official news from the Albanian front is contained in a High Command communique received in London early this morning. It states: “The enemy, under pressure by us, withdrew with losses in the direction of Kirkyre, where they first appeared. On the rest of the front operations continued satisfactorily. Prisoners, including one lieutenant-colonel, were captured and a considerable quantity of material feU into our hands.’’

Military circles in London, discussing the situation, point out that weather conditions must have a considerable effect on the operations, but in spite of snow and some 18 degrees of frost at high altitudes, the Greek Army is still methodically mopping up the enemy. Two small villages on. the northern front, which are not much in advance of the line, having been occupied. Tepelini is stated to be under heavy fire. There is no confirmation in London that the port of Palermo and the fort are in Greek hands.—British Official Wireless.
