(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day

Commenting on the cablegram in which it was reported that the Minister of Food in Englartd (Lord Woolton) had announced the cutting out of all fruits except oranges and canned fruits, the Hon. Walter Nash said “We will use all the space available in ships trading between New Zealand and Britain to ensure the dispatch of the goods most required by Britain.” He added that he had not yet received advice of Britain’s decision. “If there is some space left that can be used for fruit, Ave will endeavour to have arrangements made for fruit to go.”
