SUCCESS OF ASHBURTON U.A.O.D.
The half-yearly meeting of the Success of Ashburton Lodge, U.A.O.D. Avas held last evening, P.A. Sister F'. B. Collett presiding. An invitation from Star of Ashburton Lodge to attend the installation of officers next lodge night Avas accepted. * Three candidates were initiated.
Sick pay Avas passed in favour of tAvo members
The folloAving officers Avere installed by the district president (Sister A. L. Hawkes): —N.A., Sister G. Quinn; secretary, Sister M. E. Reid; treasurer, Sister T. L. Eyles; minute secretary, Sister G. M. Chambers; A.'D'.B., Sister F. B. Collett; 1.G., Sister E. Lindsay; 0.G., Sister P. Atkinson; N.A.B.’s, Sisters I. ICirkley and E. M. Johnson. P'.D'.P. Bro. R. T. Lattimer installed Sister A. L. Hawkes as A.D. After lodge closed a social hour Was held.
THE ASHBURTON FORESTERS. The Canterbury United District officers visited Court Ashburton, A.0.F., last evening. P.C*R. Bro. C. H. Amos presided. The visiting officers Avere : —D.C.R. Bro. F. J. Weakley, D.S.C.R. Bro. W. G. Waites, D.B. Bro. W. J. Turner, D.R.S. Bro. F. H. Swaney, D.S, Bro. 0. Jacobson.
All visitors made reports and there was a general discussion on matters relating to the general Avelfare of the Order.
The Court resolved to keep financial on the medical list the dependents of members serving overseas.
The .D.C.R. prestented a P.C.R.’s jewel to, P.D.C.R, R. W. Orowther. One proposition, for membership Avas approA’ed. 4 iSick-pay amounting to £7 was passed for payment, Donations Avere made as follow: — Health Camp Committee £1 Is, Borough Patriotic Appeal £2 2s, Dr. Miller’s Memorial £2 2s.
THE TINWALD ODDFELLOWS, The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal TinAvald Lodge', M.U.1.0.0.F., Avas held last evening, P.G. Bro. W. J. Box presiding. It Avas reported that four members Avoire on the sick funds and pay amounting to £4 13s 4d was passed in their favour.
The secretary reported that P.G. Bro. N. Whiting had left for training in the Air Force and had been presented Avith a letter of introduction to overseas’ lodges.
