LATE COMMERCIAL
TINWALD STOCK SALE.
FAT SHEEP IN SHORT SUPPLY. PRICES SHOW GOOD RISE. A very small number of fat sheep were yarded for the Tinwald stock sale to-day, and the result was that prices showed an appreciable rise on the values at Ashburton last week. The rise was estimated in various quarters at from two to four shillings a head. The top price of the sale up to midday Avas 29s 7d, for six ewes sold on account of Moore Bros. (Seafield). The main sales during the morning were:
Fat Ewes—On account of S. H. Lill (Tinwald), 5 at 22s 4dj Moore Bros. (Seafield), 5 at 25s Id, 6 at 28s 7d, 6 at 29s 7d ; Mrs B. Holland (Tinwald), 6 at 25s 7d, 5 at 27s Id; clients, 4 at 26s lOd, 5 at 27s 7d, 3 at 26s lOd, 2 at 25s 7d, 4 at 26s Id, G at 24s lOd, 4 at 24s Id, 6 at 25s 4d, 5 at 26s 4d, 4 at 25s Id, 9 at 21s lOd, 13 at 18s lOd, 3 at 23s Id, 35 at 15s 4d to 20s 7d, 4 at 26s lOd.
Fat Wethers —On account of clients, 7 at 24s lOd, 9 at 25s 4d. Fat Lambs—On account of clients, 1 at 265, 2 at 245, 4 at 25s 4d. Cattle—On account of clients, fat cows at £9, £8 10s, £7 15s; fat heifer at £6 15s.
