STEAMER OVERDUE
NO NEWS OF THE HOLMWOOD.

It is officially announced by the Prime Minister that the steamer Holmwood, formerly the Tees, is considerably overdue. No information Of any kind is available regarding the cause of the delay in reaching port. It is of course, possible that the vessel may have broken down or she may have encountered the raider known to be off the coast of New Zealand.
All possible steps are being taken and a further announcement will be made immediately any news of the vessel is obtainable.
The Holmwood, of 522 tons gross, was en route from the Chathams to Lyttelton with about eight passengers, including somo women, and a cargo of sheep. Captain James Miller is in command and the other officers are Messrs A. Campbell (Mate), C. Clarke (Second Mate), F. Abernethy (Chief Engineer). The Tees ..was acquired by the Holm Company last August from the Westland Shipping Company. She has been on the Chathams run for some years.
