MEDICAL EXAMINATION RESULTS

WELLINGTON, November 25. ; The medical examination of men drawn from the Wellington and Hut t Valley areas in the second Territorial ballot has been proceeding for a fortnight, and an analysis of the figures ’shows that approximately 54 per cent, of those examined have been rejected as permanently or temporarily unfit for service—24 per cent, as temporal lly nafi&jmd SQ jper cent, as permanently unfit. . ' - The figures arer—Total examined toi the fortnight ended Saturday, 2383; fit, 1111; temporarily unfit, 564; permanently unfit, 708. It is pointed out that the ballot was drawn from all men within the age group, regardless of their condition of health. Also, the reserve does not inelude many thousands' of single men - fit - and: • -already ~servin g -fo or accepted for the navy, army, and air force.
