THE ASHBURTON 1 CLUB. RESULTS OF PROGRESSIVE PAIRS. The Ashburton Bowling Club held a progressive pairs tournament yesterday for patriotic purposes, £3 4s being raised. The winners were:—* Skips—T. Tarbotton (five wins) ; run-ner-up, C. E. Lewis (3| wins). Leads —J. Penman and A. Gregory (four wins each). THE ALLENTON CLUB. BARR SHIELD CONTEST. The Barr Memo-rial Shield was played for by the Allenton Bowling Club yesterday. The wining rink, which had three wins, was: N. Robilliard (skip), R. McGregor, H. Rollinson, and H. Slade. Rinks led by J, Gowans, J. Shaw, and J. IP. Boothroyd tied for second place with two wins each. Eight rinks took part.
