For the first day of the For bury Park Trotting Club’s meeting the weather was overcast and there was a heavy track for a start after recent rain. The totalisator handled £28,291 10s, compared with £20,239 10s on the first day last year, which was a Thursday, and £29,291 10s on the second day, a Saturday. Concluding results:
Freyburg Handicap, 'of £2OO, 3.16 class; one mile and three furlongs—■ 4-5 Jacose scr (Watts) 1, 9-10 Worthy Cross scr 2, 1-2 Passing by scr 3. Won by half a length, a length second and third. Time, 3.4 1-5.
Achilles Handicap, of £250, 3.31 class; 1£ miles—B-8 Drumoak scr (Kerr) 1, 2-2 Clockwork scr 2, 1-1 Warning 12 '3. Won by a head, half a length second and third. Time, 3.20 1-5.
Dominion Handicap, of £275, 3.50 class; one mile and five furlongs—7-8 Dark Hazard. 60 (McTigue) 1, 1-2 Bush Laddie 48 2,. 6-6 Amonos 24 3. "Won by a lenkth, two lengths second and third. Time, 3.37 3-5. Churchill Handicap, of £275, 2.48 class; 1J miles—lo-10 Southern Smile 12 (Holmes) 1, 2-5 Fremont scr 2, 1-1 Great Don scr 3% Won by two lengths, 2.42 4-5.
' AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
WIN FOR SURE PAY. AUCKLAND, November 23. The Auckland Racing Club’s midspring meeting was opened in overcast and threatening weather. The track was rather slow and the attendance 11,500 against 13,000 last year. The totalisator handled £52,030, against £54,705 10s last year, a decrease of £2675 10s.
The stewards found the interference twice caused to Brahman in the. Milford Handicap unavoidable, and no action was taken. The stewards found that during the race Radiant Vaals had come out under pressure and interfered with Beeswing. This was considered accidental. An inquiry into interference to Calula Boy in the Takapuna Handicap wds opened and adjourned till Monday. Concluding results:— Cambria Handicap, of £300; five fur-longs—s-6 Silver Clarion, 7.9 (Dye) 1, 2-2 Nuna, 8.12 2, 3-3 'Minko, 7.12 3. Won by a length; half a length between second and third. Time, 1.1 3-5. Takapuna Plate, of £400; seven fur-longs—4-4 Gold Money Song, 8.0 (MeTavish) 1, 3-3 Kraal, 8.0 2, 1-2 Cillas, 8.0 3. Won by a length and a half; two and a-half lengths between second and third. Time, 1.27. Cheltenham Handicap, of £350; six furlongs—6-6 Sure Pay, 7.4 (Dye) 1, 4-4 Pirate King, 9.3 2, 10-10 Noitaro, 7.0 3. Won by two half a length between second and third. Time, 1.14. Ponui Handicap, of £300; one mile —l-1 Foxola, 9.2 (Smith) 1, 4-4 Valley Maid, 8.9 2, 2-2 Stratford, 8.3 3. Won by a length; three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, 1.41.
