PILLAGED AND BURNED
TOWN OCCUPIED BY ITALIANS. SHOOTING OF LEADING MAN. i l (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 22. The Greek Ministry of Security announced.that- before pillaging and burning the greater part of, Goumenitsa, which they occupied temporarily after the outbreak of war, the Italians shot a leading man and took as hostages others whose fate is not known.
It is reported from Corfu that fires and explosions are. visible on the Greek mainland. Probably the Italians are blowing up ammunition dumps.
