SERIES OF MISHAPS.

AVANGANUI, November B._ ' ;No fewer than five Waitotara children! have met with serious accidents in the last fortnight. ■ ; Thia' small son of Mr and Mrs It. Pedersen fell into a bucket of hot water and was badly scalded on the arms and body. He is making good progress. ■ ; A nope attached to a calf became entangled round tine body and neck of Mary Connor, while the calf car cored round a paddock. When she was picked up her condition was serious. Artificial respiration was used. Her condition is now satisfactory.
The two small sons of Mr E. W. Lee obtained gunpowder from schoolmates and attached a fuse to it-. When it did not go off they went to investigate, and, an exlposion occured. Both hoys were badly burnt on the face and head. A son of Mr Arthur Hurley, aged 18 months, pulled a cord attached to an electric jug of hot water, which poured down his neck, scalding his arms, back, neck and chest. The latest report is that ho is doing as well as can be expected.
