THE WEATHER.
RAINFALL AT STAVELEY. Rain fell on nine days in October at Stavelev. The total was 3.51 inches coin pa red with 2.6 inches, in October last year. This highest amount was on October 7, when 1.73 inches folk The total for the first 10 months of this year is 42.78 inches, compared with 25.20 inches for the first 10 months of last year.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST.
WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — An extensive and complex denression covers New' Zealand and the eastern Tasman S ! ea, the lowest pressing being to the south-east. The forecast for the oast coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows :
Light to moderate variable winds at first, but strong south-westerlies. Gradually prevailing. Weather fair to fine but conditions cold, changeable and showery to-morrow. Seas moderate but rising.
