PATRIOTIC FUND.
CONTRIBUTIONS AT LOWCLIFFE.
The Lowcliffe Patriotic Committee held a, 500 card party and dance in the school. The sum of £8 8s was raised. Winners of cards were Miss I. Price and Mr R, E. Gloss. A novelty dance ;wfis won, by Miss G. Ownswojrth and Mr A. Davidson. Mr W. Gijbbs was M.C. The Coldstream Harmonica. Band supplied the music for dancing. It was announced that £l4O w r as in hand as a result of the canvass of the district during the week, the card party being the finale.
DANCE AT LYNDHURST. The Lyiidburst bachelors and 1 spinsters held a da nee recently for patriotic purposes. During the evening Mr A. C. Gndd presented Private '.Dynes, who was on ieave, the a "gift from the residents of tine, district, and wished him godspeed ‘and a safe return. Private Dynes suitably responded. Novelty dances were won by Miss R. Sandivey and Mr Middleton, Mr Ar tliur Reesby and partner. Music * for dancing was played by Cook’s orchestra. extras being played by Mr K. Prebble and Mr K. Cook. Mr K. Cook was master of ceremonies.
