(Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, November 5
The Minister for Shipping (Mr R. H. Cross), in a reply to a question in the House of Commons, said that the Rumanian decree taking over control of British-owned and British chartered vessels in Rumanian territorian waters affected approximately GO craft, mainly river tugs and barges, of which 20 were British-owned and 40 British-chartered. Britain had repeatedly protested against the detention of these vessels. She had seized three ocean-going Rumanian vessels and a fourth was en route to Britain under an armed guard.
