Captain S. R. Banyard (director of the Church Army in New Zealand) arrived in Ashburton to-dav and addressed a meeting of the St. Stepehn’s Anglican Ladnes’ Guild this after non. He will speak this evening in the Tinwald Anglican Church. Captain Ban yard and Mrs Banvard arc the guests of Mr and Mrs W. P. Childs while in Ashbu,rton.

Major H. Coffin, (secretary of Salvation Army Bands in New Zealand) arrived in Ashburton this morning on the first express from the north. He was met at the station by Major R. E. Liddell and Mr G. E. Argyll® (Bandmaster of the. local Band 1 . Major Coffin spoke to the Ladies’ Home League this aftcynioon, and this evening he will conduct practices with the local Songster Brigade and Band.
