General Metaxas, replying to Mr Churchill, said: “Your Words have resounded throughout the Greek nation. We are going to. march to final triumph with the same serenity and resolution which led us 1q oppose the perfidious adversary’s aggression. With all confidence in our great and heroic ally we are going to base our common and certain victory on. tba eternal principles of moralty, justice and liberty established '3OOO years ago on the sacred soil wo are now defending.’’ The King of Greece, replying to His Mjaesty, said: “We march side by side to the‘end. With God’s aid our national -forces will bring to nought the aggressors’ brutal action.’’ Rome observers declare that the Axis is likely to negotiate with Russia, aiming to. keep the Soviet out of the Balkans Try giving her a free hand in bran and Afghanistan and possibly in India.
