HALL DESTROYED.

FIRE AT TUATAPERE. INVERCARGILL, Tin’s Day. Lawson’s Hall at Tuatapere, which is used three times a week for pictures and for dances, was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. Only the brick walls were left standing. Two shops in the front' were also gutted. One was occupied by Miss Hannan, for fruit and confectionery business, and the other, an empty shop adjoining, occupied by Mrs Duncan, was saved by the good work of a bucket brigade, though it was scorched. Insurances on the ball with the Commercial Union total £2BOO, and with the State Office £I2OO. Fittings were insured with the State Office for £2lO. Mrs Hannan’s stock was insured with the State Office for £l5O and Mrs Duncan’s stock with the same office for £3OO.
