EXCHANGE PACT.
GERMAN TRADE WITH TURKEY. ♦ LONDON, July 25. •Germany and Turkey have signed a, trade agreement for the exchange of goods worth £4,000,000 a year. "Under- the agreemi&nt Turkey will send Germany tobacco, foodstuffs, and oils in exchange lor rolling stock, which Was ordered before the wat, spare parts, chemical products, and pharmaceutical supplies, which Turkov is unable to obtain elsewhere. The Turkish German Trade Treaty expired last August, and the German Ambassador (Herr von Papen) has been trying strenuously to patch up a new deal. It is stated that a German cargo vessel, laden with pharmaceutical supplies, had already arrived in Istanbul. It is stated in London that the Turkish-German agreement is in complete harmony with Turkey’s foreign political undertakings. The Turkish Government has passed a new Defencei Bill involving the expenditure of £13,000,000 for additions to the army, navy, air fcrce, and other defence services.
