WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
MEETING AT DORIE. The monthly meeting of the Doric Women’s Institute was held in the Ardamine Hall. Mrs MeKie presided over a large attendance. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs W. Harrison and Miss E. Prendergast. A competition was won by Mrs W. Harrison. Competitions resulted: Bowl of flowers, Miss Carruthers 1, Mrs Alexander 2, Mrs D. Harrison 3; specimen bloom, Mrs O. Smith 1, Mrs I). Harrison 2, Miss Carruthers 3; article of clothing from old garment, Miss Carruthers 1, Mi,ss Sargent 2, Mrs Alexander 3; best mend on washing frock, Miss Sargent 1, Mrs Alexander 2, Miss Baxter 3; apple fritters, Miss Carruthers 1, Mrs Alexander 2, Miss N. Prendergast 3; spike or truss, Miss Carruthers 1, Mrs D. Harrison 2.
