A BEAUTIFUL WINTER DAY.
After damp unpleasant weather yesterday bright sunny conditions prevailed to-day. Three points of rain were recorded in the Domain for the 24 hours ended at nine o’clock this morning and a frost of half a degree was registered during the night. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 44.0 and 136.3 degrees compared with 52.0 and 32.5 degrees cm Thursday. The barometer read 30.06 inches this morning having risen from 29.70 inches yesterday. j/ '
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather The recent cyclonic disturbance is moving away east and pressure is rising rapidly with the advance of an anticyclone from the west. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Qamaru is as follows: Light to moderate southerly winds. Some showers at first north of Banks Peninsula, but weather otherwise fine. Cold temperatures with hard frosts. S-eas rough at first north of Akaroa. but moderating.
