PRICE OF SHEEPSKINS.
STATEMENT BY CONTROL. PROBABLE EXTENT OF REDUCTION. The following statement was issued to-night by the NeAV Zealand Sheepskin Control:— “The United Kingdom has purchased the Avhole of the exportable surplus of dried sheepskins. The official buying authority is the Bradford Wool Control, and the price is based on the value of the slipe avool and pickled pelt resulting from the skins Avhen ■fellmongered. The pelt values agreed to are AA r orld prices, and to reflect any alteration in prices it is, agreed that the purchase price of sheepskins is to be reA-ioAved quarterly. “The present change in the United Kingdom’s purchase price is ' duo to the first quarterly revieAv. The Avorld price of pickled pelts has declined, and as a result the United Kingdom’s buying price for our sheepskins has declined in sympathy. “The control’s neAV buying schedule will be issued early next Aveek, and it is anticipated that, the reduction in prices Avill not average more than a penny per lb dried sheepskin Aveight.”
