The Associated Press states that 3000 Chinese guerillas gave battle at dawn to 900 Japanese who last month occupied a strip of the mainland, blocking the colony’s communications with China. The Japanese forced the attackers to retreat. Fighting, however, continues 20 miles from the centre of Hong Kong.
